Overview

From our very inception in 1976 by Margo and Tom Hartley, Hilton Manufacturing has set the highest of standards in precision engineering and manufacturing quality. Hilton Manufacturing remains a family owned and run business and has built on our founders’ vision, now operating from two modern manufacturing facilities, our main Headquarters and manufacturing plant in the south east of Melbourne located in Dandenong Victoria, with over 20,000 sqm of under roof engineering, development and manufacturing facilities, and our northern manufacturing facility of 4,000 sqm located, in the south-west region of Brisbane, Queensland.

Hilton services the needs of clients across a range of diverse industries including transportation (truck, bus, rail and leisure) defence, civil, commercial, agricultural and health care. Whilst all clients are different each are common in their needs for service, quality and continuity of supply for their manufacturing requirements.

A testament to the Hilton approach, and the quality of the product we produce, is demonstrated by those brands that chose Hilton Manufacturing as their preferred supplier. Hilton is proud of its working associations with some of the world’s great vehicle brands including Kenworth, Volvo & Mack, Daimler-Chrysler, Iveco and Western Star. These manufacturers recognise and rely on Hilton’s quality and dedication in producing the very best of fuel tanks and associated componentry, as original equipment on their fine vehicles.

Hilton’s product experience and quality has also led to providing products beyond the local Australian market and into export markets for brands such as Tata/Daewoo in Korea, Hino, Nissan UD and Isuzu in Japan, Westport in Canada and Scania in Sweden.

Durabar® products ‘by Hilton’ provide the local truck industry and sales networks with exceptional quality products including bull bars and bumper bars and is supported by our specialised in-house engineering sales team and assembly crew to deliver a turn key solution to our customers.

Hilton Digital Division was formed following the requirement for mobile solutions to cater to the ever-increasing demands on traffic management, driven by countless infrastructure projects across Australia, Hilton has also invested in the Hilton Digital Division, engineering, prototyping and manufacturing of specialised digital trailers. Digital mobile solutions offered include Arrow Boards, Variable Speed, Variable Messaging, Traffic Lights and Lighting and Camera trailers. Further digital trailers are under development to meet even more specific customer requirements. All manufacturing and assembly of electrical and electronic assemblies is undertaken in our modern production and assembly plant.

Hilton Special Projects Division works with customers to develop engineering and product solutions to meet dedicated and specialised requirements. Clients can take full advantage of working with a local and dedicated team for all their project scoping, design, engineering, prototyping, testing, manufacturing and assembly. Our clients are pleasantly surprised with the cost-effective outcomes provided by Hilton, to their own specific requirements.

Hilton Contract Manufacturing supplies components, sub-assemblies and final products across a diverse range of industries. Our experience and expertise in all aspects of sheet metal manufacturing including the rolling, forming, bending, pressing, folding, CNC router, machining, welding and polishing of aluminium, mild steel and stainless steel, is second to none. Our skills are evident in the precision and complexities of the products that we produce time and again to exceed client expectations.

Hilton has heavily invested in our people, processes and plant to ensure we remain highly competitive in a global economy. Many of our more repetitive high-volume processes are undertaken by robotics, to ensure cost effectiveness and consistency of outcomes. We are still very much a ‘people operation’ however and aim to support our 250+ strong team with practices and processes and only look to robots where production volumes, capacity or safety dictate the necessity. A lean manufacturing culture is ingrained in Hilton’s DNA to ensure our ongoing global competitiveness and includes Lean Capability, 5S and Just in Time methodologies.

Our customers are assured of the highest quality standard as we are accredited to internationally recognised standards ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental and ISO 3834 – 2 Welding.
We have minimised our environmental footprint by investing in our Sun Tracking Solar Farm at our Melbourne facility and it delivers 200 Kilowatts of capacity. In the addition the implementation of variable speed drive compressors and power factor correction units ensures minimal spikes in our power consumption.
